I have an extensive background on Oracle Retail (Previously Retek) implementation projects as a technical architecture consultant. Prior to that I was working primarily as an Oracle DBA and Unix system administrator. Have just completed 8 years as an Oracle technical consultant at Oracle where I worked on numerous implementation projects doing Oracle Retail, DBA, WebLogic and Unix technical work. Prior to that I was a freelancer and contractor working on similar projects.
 
I have worked on various large full lifecycle Oracle Retail implementation projects with a focus on the MOM suite as well as integration, ware house management and data warehousing. My typical role on these projects has been as a technical consultant focusing on the technical architecture including application design, hardware design and sizing, configuration of the Oracle technical stack (databases and application servers), application installation and configuration, DBA/Unix system administration duties, etc. Clients have been large retailers in Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom and Dubai.
 
I am an inquisitive and hands-on type, very much self-taught, enjoy the challenge of learning/researching new products/versions and enjoy environments where I can make a positive contribution and deliver working systems that fulfil their business purpose
